Srinagar, February 24 (KNO) : In the ongoing encounter at Turigam Yaripora we have lost a young colleague Dy. Superintendent of Police Operations Shri Aman Kumar Thakur while fighting militants in Kulgam today. We pay rich tributes to our colleague Martyr DySP Aman Kumar Thakur for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty today at Kulgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this critical juncture. DySP Aman Kumar was a 2011 batch KPS Officer who was leading from the front in this operation. He had been heading the counter militants wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police in District Kulgam from last one and a half year and had played an instrumental role in killing the dreaded militants in the area. DySP Aman Kumar was known for his simplicity, plain speaking and thorough professionalism and was known for his determination and valour. In a short period of time he had earned love, respect and appreciation of the locals in the area for his helpful nature and professionalism.
